Melody Of A Memory

Eem Triplin drops his debut album Melody Of A Memory showcasing his talent by bringing in all his past sounds to create his best work yet.

The first song “Came In It” starts the album off with the lyrics “You are, you are a special gift, and you have taken the gift that God has given you” voiced by Eem’s mother, stepping back and thanking God for the blessings and the impact he has done in Eem’s life. “If We Being Honest” is a groovy song giving the perfect vibes for this spring. “FIJI” featuring Cruza is also on the album, one of Eem Triplin’s most memorable songs that was released last year.

“DUYA” is one of the more unique-sounding songs off of the album as it showcases him trying out different flows and styles. This song in particular seems like it draws inspiration from the likes of Tyler, The Creator, and other artists, and he does the same with the following song “Out Miami” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. “IYKTYK” is a toxic anthem for those who can relate, hence the song title. Ironically, on the following track “Feyoncé” he sums up his desires as he raps “I need a Beyoncé fiancé, to come and keep my mind straight, my vibe throwed off”, which follows with many other references to media’s most popular female artists like Niki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, and Zendaya”

“MISS ME?” seems to be a direct reference to “DUYA”, where “DUYA” is displayed as Eem wanting someone to love him, whereas “MISS ME?” is quite the opposite where due to his successes he feels that he is rather missed than loved. On “Tall Tales” Eem questions if he is worthy of another love as he mentions his past to this newly found lover, a nostalgic Eem-type song with one of my favorite outros off of the project. “On And On” is the project's stand-out song where Eem gets a few things off his chest about repeated cycles within relationships. “Kingdom Of Hearts” ends this album off with one of Eem Triplin’s most vibey songs to date.

This was a great first album from Eem Triplin. It seems like he has a big variety of sounds he can dive into, and also some sounds he is still gatekeeping. Melody Of A Memory turned me into a fan and has me excited for what else he will bring to us in the future.
