Kendrick Lamar Pulls Up In His GNX!

What a way for the G.O.A.T. to drop in and deliver the fans a new album before the year ends. This is something to be thankful for; for sure.

In the opening tracks, he brings back the vibe from the song he dropped on his Instagram “Watch The Party Die” addressing all the lingering questions and disses menacingly.

Then we get “luther” (my personal favorite track from the album and possibly the year) featuring SZA, and as always, this duo brings magic to our ears. Just recently they announced the Grand National Tour where they will be bringing performances all around. But that isn’t the only song they have together on the album as the beautiful closing track “gloria” reminds us of the talent these two have for storytelling.

Kendrick brings West Coast beats and making pure hits. Songs like “squabble up” “hey now” and “tv off” carry the same joyous vibe that “Not Like Us” had all year. We see that Kendrick is clearly having fun with his talent and is just popping out with catchy flows. I see people already blasting these songs as anthems which is not surprising at all, its just the Kendrick effect.

But as usual, Kendrick brings in his lyricism to the max on tracks like “man at the garden” and “reincarnated”. “reincarnated” being the stand out song for me where its Kendrick bringing his best performance talking about the negatives in his life and how he is still trying to justify his actions. True storytelling. On “heart pt. 6” as Kendrick gives us the rundown of the TDE family’s history in a harmonic way.

This album came out of nowhere, but honestly it solidified Kendrick Lamar’s placement as artist of the year by bringing hits on hits. First started and ended a war with one of hip-hops greatest artist (he who shall not be mentioned), to then earning the Half Time show for the NFL’s 2025 Superbowl. Now he gives us his 6th studio album to enjoy for who knows how long. Glad this one didn’t take 5 years.
