BULLY V.1
Kanye West released nine new tracks on his YouTube channel, along with a short film featuring his son Saint beating up a bunch of wrestlers in a ring.
Last week Kanye delivered an unfinished version of BULLY, his best work since Donda. The project opens up with “PREACHER MAN” and “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST”, two tracks previously teased during one of his Japan shows from last year when he was promoting the release of VULTURES 2 with Ty Dolla $ign. The third track, “WHITE LINES” samples Frank Ocean’s “Close To You” from the iconic blond, still capturing its feeling of sounding deep and personal in a beautiful manner. The outro to this song feels nostalgic due to the distorted vocals sounding from 808’s and Heartbreak.
“LAST BREATH” is the fourth track where Kanye West dives into his Latino bag rapping entirely in spanish featuring Peso Pluma on the chorus interpolating “Bésame Mama” by Poncho Sanchez. “BULLY” is the next track that opens with the laugh from none other than Nelson Muntz, the bully from the simpsons. “I CAN’T BEAR” is probably the best-produced song right along with “CIRCLES” and “HIGHS AND LOWS” capturing Kanye’s talent. He then ends the project with “SHOWTIME”, the most beautiful song I've heard this year so far. Once the project finishes it loops back a second time to finish the short film.
BULLY V.1 was a great project, but also a short one that needs to be finished and uploaded to streaming services SOON! It’s too good.
