This weeks Weekday Wayback is Songs From the Film by the recently passed power pop legend Tommy Keene. On his second record and major label debut, Tommy Keene shows the true sound of a genre that many are unfamiliar with. The jangly guitars, the use of chorus, and the upbeat attitude of the songs make the album, which is full of great tracks. The songwriter from DC passed away at the age of 59 on November 22nd, 2017. Enjoy this great record from a mostly unknown artist! Also, as a side note, the only copy of this album I had was on vinyl, so if there are crackles in the songs, that's because I recorded it from the record.
