Weekday Wayback: Prince- "Nothing Compares 2 U" Studio Rehersal Photage

This week’s Weekday Wayback is Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U”. It was written and composed by Prince, and released by a band The Family. Which was created to release more of Prince’s written music. On their first and only album The Family, “Nothing Compares 2 U” got very little recognition but blew up when It was later made famous by Irish recording artist Sinéad O'Connor, whose arrangement was released as the second single from her second studio album, I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got. The video seen above is previously unseen rehearsal footage of Prince & The Revolution from the summer of 1984. This video demonstrates Prince’s power in performance and boils over feelings of deep nostalgia and remorse for one of the greatest artists of all time. Enjoy!
