HEROES & VILLAINS: December 22, 2022
Metro Boomin assembled this team first with his album HEROES & VILLAINS. Future comes out strong on “Superhero”, sparking the duo’s motivations for creating WE DON’T, and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU albums later on. Future also features on the interlude from this album “I Can’t Save You” with Don Toliver, A$AP Rocky and 21 Savage, showing you who Metro has at his finger tips when it comes to making songs. Travis Scott then makes prominent appearances on “Raindrops”, “Trance” featuring Young Thug, “Niagara Falls (Foot or 2) a fan favorite that lived for years as a leak, featuring 21 Savage, and “Lock On Me” with Future. The Weeknd blessed Metro by making “Creepin”, also featuring 21 Savage, go #1 on the billboard charts for weeks!
“Popular” & “Double
Fantasy”: Jan 26-Apr 4, 2023
The Weeknd began promoting his new HBO show THE IDOL,with two singles, “Popular”, featuring Playboi Carti and Madonna. Also “Double Fantasy” featuring Future, production from Metro Boomin and Mike Dean.
UTOPIA: July 28, 2023
A few months later, Travis Scott drops his most highly anticipated album UTOPIA; dominating the year 2023. After setting a high bar with ASTROWORLD, and having a stacked cast, fans had high expectations for what Travis had to deliver. Once you get to track 8, you are met with the addicting “FE!N” featuring Playboi Carti. Here Carti would debut his “deep voice alter ego”, a now iconic trait from Carti. Paving the way for a new era in the way he makes music. The Weeknd makes appearances on the anthem “CIRCUS MAXIMUS” featuring Swae Lee, and the Latin/RnB “K-POP” featuring Bad Bunny. Future gives us his best performance in a long time on the cinematic “TELEKINESIS” featuring SZA where she does the same. The killer outro of this album “TIL FURTHER NOTICE”, features 21 Savage, production from Metro Boomin and James Blake, where James also gives eerie yet memorable vocals.
“All The Way Live”: August 4, 2023
Metro Boomin then had the opportunity to compose the soundtrack for the record breaking and fan favorite movie SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE; highlighting his ability to produce on a high level. And of course, Metro does not forget to include Future in this project on “All The Way Live”, also featuring Lil Uzi Vert.
WE DON’T TRUST YOU: March 22, 2024
Future & Metro finally deliver their highly anticipated collaborative album WE DON’T TRUST YOU, containing some of their best songs yet, with many featured artists on this tape. The Weeknd provides crazy vocals for “Young Metro”. Travis Scott joins “Cinderella”, a fan favorite that was teased before UTOPIA’s release, finally came out and does not disappoint. But we really feel the power of “The Avengers of Rap” on “Type Shit” where Future, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, and Metro Boomin’s production were able to make a new, iconinc stadium anthem.
WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU: April 12, 2024
Just 3 weeks later, Future & Metro Boomin continue their legendary duo run by dropping WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, the sequel to WE DON’T TRUST YOU. On this project, The Weeknd makes 3 unforgettable appearances on RnB classics “We Still Don’t Trust You”, “All To Myself”, and “Always Be My Fault”.
HURRY UP TOMORROW: January 31, 2025
To start this year, The Weeknd brings us his final album HURRY UP TOMORROW; the end of his After Hours Til Dawn trilogy. Travis Scott creates an intimidating performance with distorted vocals from his verse on “Reflections Laughing” also featuring Florence+the Machine and production from Metro Boomin. “Enjoy The Show” features Future where they continue the classic RnB vibe they have created together. “Given Up On Me” is another track produced by Metro Boomin, containing vocals from Future, highlighting the chemistry these three have with each other when it comes to song making. But Playboi Carti continue this new unexpected duo they got going on with the now iconic song “TIMELESS”.
MUSIC: March 14, 2024
Playboi Carti finally dropped MUSIC with a heavy amount of features spread out on a 30 song tracklist. Travis Scott makes the biggest appearance through songs like “CRUSH” where he produces this track specifically and has light vocals, but Travis also gives some of his most memorable verses on tracks like “PHILLY”, “WAKE UP F1ILTHY” and “BACKR00MS. Future also has a big appearance on songs like “TRIM” and “CHARGE DEM HOES A FEE” also featuring Travis Scott; where this trio continues their Avenger team level abilities to recreate the same magic that “Type Shit” had. Metro Boomin makes a small appearance by producing “RADAR” for Playboi Carti. But of course, The Weeknd and Playboi Carti had to run it back with another iconic song “RATHER LIE”; reminding us of the greatness these two can make when they collaborate.
