The Happy Fits & Elliot Mags

The Happy Fits don’t fill the usual makeup of a band - but that doesn’t stop them bringing the house down with enough energy to power Denver for a year.

Nor could COVID bring them down. Drummer Luke Davis was pulled from the lineup three days before showtime - and the show was completely up in the air. Massive props to Elliot Mags for filling in on the drums - with only one rehearsal and a notebook, Elliot kept up with Calvin & Ross’s explosive sound and undying energy.

Calvin Langman strolled on stage bearing a cello that sets the group’s sound so far apart from the field. Once it started, you didn’t want it to stop.

And the crowd was eager for an encore - to which Ross admitted they weren’t totally prepared for, but were willing to give it a shot.

If you happened to miss this show, put April 12th on your calendar as they visit Denver on the What Could Be Better tour with Sarah and The Sundays (!!!) and Aviv. You’ll probably catch me there - and at the May 4th show at Top Cats in Cincy.
