Jean’s Glimmer
At the beginning of the month I was fortunate enough to attend the Glimmer of God tour here in Denver at the Cervantes Ballroom. It was a smaller show, but this man’s performance was just out of this world. It gave me a greater appreciation for the music he makes. It definitely feels like he is trying to gather a room of misfits and try and turn it into the greatest concert anyone has ever been to. His performance felt so inclusive and his use of instruments were just outstanding. He began the show playing “NO SZNS (feat. SZA)” which is such an amazing song to open up too. I saw other people singing along and having the time of their lives, which made me wish I was a fan sooner. I got to hear a lot of my favorite songs by him such as “Black Sugar” “KIDS EAT PILLS” and of course the song that I think had the best performance “Power Freaks”. Finally he ended off the show playing his biggest song, or at least the one that got his name out, which is “Menthol* (feat. Mad DeMarco)” where the crowd got together forming the biggest moshpits of the show. Jean Dawson is up next, his craft and vision for music is definitely one not to miss.
