Don Toliver Psycho Tour: Psycho Night
Don Toliver performed his last show of the Psycho tour here in Denver at Ball Arena. After huge successes throughout the tour, from selling out shows, it was an honor to see Don Toliver’s progress in the industry, as he has now reached arena status.
Earlier this year he delivered his 4th studio album HARDSTONE PSYCHO which contained some of his greatest work produced yet. He opens the show with KRYPTONITE bringing in crazy visuals and harmonic vocals. He then plays the more popular songs off the album such as “TORE UP” “4X4” and “BROTHER STONE” multiple times, which felt like the FE!N effect Travis Scott was doing during his CIRCUS MAXIMUS shows where he would play the song 12 times on average.
Then we go back into the Heaven or Hell era where he plays “Cardigan” and “Had Enough” then singing his chorus’s feaured on “GANG GANG” and “WHAT TO DO?” from the Cactus Jack album JACKBOYS. From there it was straight fan service as he played “FIELD TRIP” “No Pole” “NEW DROP” “CAN’T SAY” “ATTITUDE” “Private Landing” “Smoke” “Lemonade” “No Idea” “Too Many Nights” and of course “After Party”.
Don Toliver ends the show by bringing out live bikes to perform a stunt in the Globe of death (the cage ball thing they use at the circus) as he sang “BANDIT”, his most successful song of
the year. Finally, he sent everyone home playing “TORE UP” multiple times, again to wrap up the tour.
The PSYCHO TOUR was a great one, it had great memories along the road marking an important moment for Don’s career. It made me realize that Don Toliver is the king of making a catchy chorus as every song was a banger. Next time he tours around he will have a new sound with even more catchy hooks, I can’t wait to see his craft grow.
