Matmos - Plastic Anniversary March 15

Matmos's Plastic Anniversary is a dynamic and diverse IBM electronic record comprise of various samples of plastic sounds, and even with this seemingly tight constraint on what could be used to make the music, the duo still manages to pull through with a wide arrange of sounds with varying emotional contexts. My favorites include the heart wrenching and jarring "The Crying Pill", the intricate "Interior Billiard Balls & Synthetic Fat", the driving, loud "Thermoplastic Riot Shield", and the oddly melodic "The Singing Tube". Most definitely one of the most intriguing releases of the year and a must listen.
