Edward Sharpe Concert - March 21st @ The Ogden Theatre

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros: A band thats been around for close to five years (first concert was July 18th, 2007) yet despite this short amount of time, has already seen more success than most bands do in an entire lifetime. Led by vocalist Alex Ebert, the band's live setup was nothing short of impressive with 2 drummers, multiple guitar players, multiple piano players, as well as an accordian, a trumpet, and a vibraphone: all of which were used at some point or another during the show. The band played nearly all of their album, Up From Below (released in 2009), in addition to songs from Alex Ebert's solo album, Alexander (released in 2011). Even with several of their hits, the band would often prolong the songs and either sharply improvise on any of the numerous instruments or encourage the crowd's participation in a call & response manner. During the final song, close to 30-40 screaming fans made their way on stage as the band concluded the show. While their recorded material is great, their live show is definitely one that shouldn't be missed.
