Tips and tricks to keeping the long distance spark alive! (suggestions from college-aged students around Regis who have been or are currently in a long distanced relationship)

  • Set a date/ relative time when you won’t be long distance anymore.

  • Some couples get a stuffed animal to share and trade between each visit. You can make an instagram for your little animal and post photos of your animal traveling around wherever you and your partner go.

  • Play online games together, like Minecraft! It helps to see your avatar next to your partner’s avatar.

  • Set up date nights. College gets hectic and it is so common to have difficulties finding time to set aside for your partner, this is why date nights are helpful. You can make fun themes, find crafting activities, or a tv show you watch together, just something that makes you and your partner feel not so far away.

  • FaceTime! or Skype! or Zoom! this might sound like an obvious one in this modern age, but talking to your partner and seeing their face/ world really helps.
