Iron and Wine - Kiss Each Other Clean

Sam Beam has yet again transformed his music project, Iron and Wine, from the quiet acoustic songs that originally exemplified his work. Since the powerful 2007 album "The Shepard's Dog," Samuel Beam has yet again expounded a more melodic-driven, full force sound with his new 2011 album, "Kiss Each Other Clean." I highly recommend this album, especially if you're tired of the old, sparse Iron and Wine tracks.

Atlas Sound

Atlas Sound, the solo project of Bradford Cox (frontman of Deerhunter), released a slew of home recordings in the latter part of November for free off the Deerhunter/Atlas Sound/Lotus Plaza blog. The recordings were released on four separate volumes (respectfully named the Bedroom Databank vol 1/2/3/4), all of which are respectable in their own right. Though some songs may just be repetitive experimental sounds that seem almost too much at points, if you sift through all the song, you can definitely find some nice tunes (including a very nice cover of Bob Dylan's "This Wheel's on Fire").

Faces on Film - Some Weather

Boston singer-songwriter Mioke Fiore has really proved himself.  While his first 2008 album, "The Troubles" was generally well received, many critics did not think he would be able to follow up on the limited success of his first album.  "Some Weather" creates a very dreamlike motif that is not simply atmospheric.  The haunting vocals are surrounded by significant guitar riffs, piano tunes, and pounding  drum beats that seem to weave the story of a contemporary generation around a pillar of classic, yet unique sounds.

RADICAL FACE - TOUCH THE SKY

Radical Face is the solo project of Ben Cooper (of Electric President) with a little help from fellow Electric President Alex Kane and his brother Emeral Cooper. Layered sound that combines with inventive lyrics to tell stories; and all recorded in the shed in Cooper's back yard. Check out this video for a taste:
