(April Fools) Ed Sheeran Coming Out with a Children’s Album: ( )

by Maureen Brennan

Ed Sheeran is predicted to become the new Raffie. Ever since the birth of Ed Sheeran’s daughter Lyra Antartica Seaborn Sheeran, he has been taking time off from the music scene. Yet after being kept in quarantine and the new stresses of becoming a parent, his creative energy has been building up. So Ed Sheeran has decided to make a children’s album. He says he wants to reach the younger crowd and relate to the coming generations. Lyra is only eight months old, but even she is getting a debut in the songs, adding in goo’s and ga’s (which, with no surprise, are perfectly on pitch).

The album is still in the making so no concrete details are confirmed yet, but we hear the album will be called ( ) as in parenthesis. One of the featured songs is called Cheerio Girl, which talks all about the likes and dislikes of Lyra. Cheerio Girl even has a line, “I’m in love with my mama’s boobs” which is a nod to his famous song shape of you.

He also has a song called  “Counting Out Loud”, which sounds a lot like his song, “Thinking Out Loud”. In this song he has lines like, “When your crayons don't fit in your hands anymore, and you can’t just rely on 1- 2 and 3, you can use this song to remember my love, so come on and sing it with me”. There are many other fun songs that are all about learning the world of being a kid, and stepping into being a parent.

Stay tuned for when the album drops April 1st 2022.
